Songs for Our Kids

Olivia Greubel | September 26, 2019

You’ve probably heard the songs created by our worship team by now. They’re fun, they’re catchy, and as I’ve heard, no kid at CBC has been able to get them out of their heads.

I don’t want to downplay what’s going on here though. The intentionality behind making our own songs, based on Scripture and lessons straight from our classrooms, has been so specific and prayerfully considered. We wanted to make songs to bring home, a gift to families, a way to keep God’s word in the hearts of our kids.

Our souls latch on to music. Most of us can still remember the songs we sang in Sunday School when we were kids, or the first song that moved us, or thousands upon thousands of lyrics to nearly every song we’ve ever heard. We can’t help it, either. We’re hardwired for worship (Psalm 66:4- “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name” / Isaiah 43:21- “the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise”).

These songs were written in ways that incorporate the truth of God, who He is, what He has done, and what He will do, in ways that children and families can sing and remember together. We want to honor Jesus in what we make by making something good. Let’s give thanks to the Lord and honor the gifts he’s given us by first thanking the gift giver, honoring him with praises again and again.

Truly, we hope you enjoy these. We hope these can be something fun and exciting for kids, parents, families, and friends alike. We’re excited to continue to grow in this area, and we’re excited for what’s to come.

To download these songs for free, you can find them on Soundcloud by searching ‘CBC Worship.’ Under the ‘More’ option, click ‘Download File’ and the songs are yours to keep. You can also find these songs on Spotify and Apple Music by searching CBC Kids.

We love you, CBC.
