Family Meeting Recap | Fall 2019

Admin | November 6, 2019

This past Sunday was our bi-annual Family Meeting! We discussed updates within the church and new directions we’ve been praying about and exploring. If you weren’t able to make it, here’s some of what we covered.

What’s new at CBC?

We have two new people on staff! Tim Doane is our Connections Coordinator and Ria Romano is our High School & College Assistant. Tim helps with our membership process and Community Groups, while Ria works with our High School and College ministries.

We’ve also purchased a house in the neighborhood that’s right between the Main Sanctuary and our offices. We’re hoping to either use it for either a future Neighbors Director or as missionary housing.

You’ve probably noticed some construction by the kid’s entrance near the Video Venue. We’re redoing the patio out by the Coffee Area. We want this area to be a nice place to socialize before and after services. By the end of the year, it’ll be finished! We also added new landscaping all around there to liven it up a little bit.

Lastly, we added a new service team! You may have gotten an email about it. We’d love to open up our Communion Team to members at the church! Contact Tim if this is a team that interests you.

This year we’ve had 100 new members, as well as 30 Community Groups meeting regularly. Not to mention 7 groups outside of that meeting in our College ministry. Our goal for 2020 is to add another 10 groups, and we’re hopeful that could happen! We are always so encouraged by how our body comes together in and out of Sunday gatherings!

We’re planning on having at least 7 Go Trips in 2020 to places like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Rwanda, Uganda, Queens, and Romania! 2019 was a great year for missions and we want to continue to be a church that sends its people out.

Lastly, we ask you to join us in prayer! We are still looking for guidance in the next steps in our neighborhood, wisdom towards church planting, and our goals for missions. We want to hear what the Lord has been saying to you about this as well– please, contact us with any wisdom or advice. We love this church, thank you CBC! Stay tuned for more information about our next Family Meeting this spring!
