Letters from Missionaries, Vol. 4

Gospelink | June 15, 2020

Scripture speaks of a day when every nation, tribe, people, and language will be around the throne of God, worshipping and praising Jesus as the One True God. Until then, God invites His Church to join Him in taking the Good News to every people. Through our partners at Gospelink, we have the opportunity to support native preachers in places where the local church is still developing. In doing so, we get to participate in the global Church now, and we get a foretaste of what is to come in Heaven.

Check out this letter we received from a CBC-sponsored preacher in Cambodia. Our hope in sharing this update is that you would pray for the Church in Cambodia, celebrate the work of the gospel, and consider how God is inviting you to join in His global mission.

A Letter from a Cambodian Preacher

Dear Community Bible Church of Savannah,

Greetings to you, my precious Sponsors!

I’m so thankful to you for your support each quarter for my family and my ministry. It is a very nice surprise to receive your funds, including the Christmas gift. How can it be? I really appreciate your big heart for Cambodian ministry. Your love has encouraged me on these days that people are living in fear, panic due to Corona virus 2019, but our hope is in the Lord.

Can’t wait to tell you a good news that my wife and I were blessed to welcome our little son, Luke, in January 2020. I was very happy to receive help from my Christian friends in time of need because my wife’s baby deliverance surgery. At the hospital, the doctor ordered me to buy some food, ghost money, and fruits to sacrifice to their idol gods for having peace and safe on my wife and children, but then I didn’t. I told the doctor I was a believer of Jesus. Then the doctor said to me: I don’t care what you believe, you must follow my instruction. I still refused the doctors requirement. He was angry and he went away without any help for my wife after deliverance. My heart was very heavy, and I looked at my wife while she was lying on her bed with fade blue face due to losing her blood. Immediately, God sent another doctor to come in and she gave medicine tablets to my wife with sweet words and kind requests for the mother’s born baby. I am working hard on caring for my wife and our little son. Please continue to pray for him and my wife.

How good and pleasant it is when you love us and concern our people’s final destiny! I thank God for giving me such chance to serve the Gospel with you. My ministry is being much qualified from your dedication. Please keep on praying for my preaching that many who have heard His love will be lead to knowledge of the truth through their personal repentance. I am learning how to be thankful and how to take the chances on serving the gospel message here. I have no greater joy than to tell others how much the Lord loves them, the most important thing in life of making the relationship with God before it is too late. Thank you so much!

May the Lord satisfy you and multiply your Church members with His riches today and the days ahead.

Yours faithfully,

Preacher Vanne Leng
